The receipts are now in and we can happily announce that the Village Hall quiz last month made a profit of £598 (and 19p).
This is a fantastic amount and we are grateful to the 68 quiz folk in the 13 teams who took part on the night.
We are also extremely grateful to Roger and Gill Douglas and their friends who contributed £100 to the event. They said they enjoyed our quizzes and wanted to show their thanks.
It was a lovely gesture and we are very touched.
We always aim to put on the best when we stage any fundraising event and such generosity as this is much appreciated.
The team behind the evening were Sandy Collins and Anne and Martin Virgin. Paul Huddleston was quiz master, who was helped with the questions by Lorraine Frankish.
So, big congratulations to the winning team, Minus 1. In a hard-fought series of rounds they took the title of champions by a mere half a point. In second place was Nemesis and third were the Arty Farties.
Thanks again. We hope you all enjoyed it and we hope to see you soon in another battle of wits.
