We are delighted to announce the winners of our two printed Christmas quizzes.

Sue Peacock took first prize in the competition to guess the Christmas carols and songs and won a fabulous hamper generously donated by Ryhall Village Stores. The second prize of our enchanting 2019 calendar went to Maralyn Hicks.

In the second quiz, where you had to answer what the initials stood for, Sylvia Lewis won the bottle of Prosecco kindly donated by The Green Dragon, Ryhall. Second prize of the Ryhall 2019 calendar went to Madelaine Pavey.

The two quizzes were organised by the hall’s vice chair Lynda Bellairs, who is keen to generate funds for the hall roof which is in desperate need of repair. She said: “People were very enthusiastic and it made for two very successful competitions. I am equally happy with the result as we made £129 profit.
“I want to thank Miranda from the Village Stores and Debbie from the Green Dragon for their generosity and support. The prizes are fantastic and I know the winners will be delighted with them.”

The swiftly deteriorating condition of the roof over the small hall came to light after bad weather in the autumn. The cost of replacing it would have virtually wiped out the hall’s reserves, but thanks to Ryhall Parish Council which made a generous donation of £8,000 plus other fundraising activities by the hall committee the work is scheduled to go ahead next month. It means the hall will remain in sound financial condition too.

The hall committee are extremely grateful to the parish council and villagers who support us in all we do. We thank you all.
